Rainforest turning into pasture

November 7th, 2008

Brazil is countries of continental size, each of its regions are very different and unique.  Besides environmental differences there are also the ones related to population and live quality.

Some states have incomes from industrialized activities, farming, tourism, services and so on. The states at the rainforest region have most of their income from farming which is a problem.

Deforestation rates due to new pastures have increased tremendously. Population living in the tropical forest surroundings are very poor and don’t have many alternatives to choose from when deciding how to provide for their families.

As profit from cattle and crop plantations increase so does deforestation. Forest is burn to open space for pastures. The main reason is the lack of labor choice given to the local population.

The local government has not done much in order to create or support alternatives of sustainable development projects. Actions from the civil society supporting sustainable projects that give alternatives to local population are most important to save the forest from turning into pasture.

Daily human activities increase carbon dioxide emissions

October 29th, 2008

Climate Change is a direct result of human activity. The modern life has tremendously increased the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere and the result is a chaotic environment where the so called natural disasters happen more often than before.

Simple man activities such as driving cars, taking planes, using gas, turning on lights and so on contribute to global warming. Besides all this regular actions that are present on everyone’s lives there are also industrial activities releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

Deforestation is also one of the main causes of global warming and therefore climate change. All the emissions coming from deforestation in Brazil are accountable for 75% of the carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere.

Small changes done by each one of us on our routine can have a great impact on global climate. In addition action must be taken towards preserving rainforests and other unique places around the planet.

Having in mind the importance of the rainforest to avoid global warming is that adopt forest developed a sponsor program. Learn more about it browsing into our website and help to save the rainforest.

Deforestation leads to animal extinction

October 14th, 2008

Rainforest deforestation is happening in large scale. The Amazon is home to an uncountable number of animal and plant species and once the forest disappears so will all those animals and plants.

Because the rainforest is such a unique environment there is no other place that could be home to all those animals. The forest burnings, lodgings and clearance for pastures are already place some plants and animals on the extinction list.

Besides Amazon importance to a great number of species there is also its importance to world’s climate and animals. The temperature rise in the past years has compromised not only species living at the rainforest but also species spread all over the world.  The rainforest plays a key role on the planet and its climate and must be preserved.

Saving the rainforest is not an easy task, it will take time, political and economical compromising and most important, action. Everyday there are more and more pastures and less of the rainforest to be saved.

Do your part, help us to save the rainforest.

Find out more about rainforests and consciously help to save them

October 7th, 2008

The world has a great number of astonishing places shaped by nature during the centuries. People travel big distances and every so often do huge efforts just to take a glance at some of these wonders.

It’s impossible to measure the importance of a specific environment. Each desert, island, river or forest has their own value and significance to our planet and therefore our lives. Efforts are put together for the purpose of helping to save and preserve several unique species and environments.

The conservation of rainforests and their great biodiversity have been taken as a goal to a number of organizations and people around the world but there is still a need to increase the knowledge on accurate facts of tropical rainforests, their animal and plant species.

Several good work have been done on putting together quality information about rainforests, which can help all of us to have a better understanding of their real importance and consciously choose a way to help out.

The tropical-rainforest-animals.com has all sorts of information concerning rainforests and some main topics on the current green agenda. Take a couple minutes and learn more about the rainforest, amaze your self with the animals, plants and unique facts of the forest. Then help to save the forest.

Current causes and rates for deforestation of the rainforest

October 2nd, 2008

The major rate of recent deforestation has taken place in Brazil, which represents 80% when taken into account the world natural forests. In 2001 the Amazon already had lost 13% of its original extent, it is equivalent of an area similar to Germany and France.

The rates had drop from mid 2006 to mid 2007 but in 2008 the data form the Brazilian National Institute for Space Research showed an increase of rainforest area destroyed.

Deforestation main causes are cattle ranching, Soya production and illegal logging. Those activities are all related to the lack of options given for the local population. Most of the people living around or into the rainforest do not have other way to make their living.

For this population the choice of damaging the rainforest is not even taken into consideration, as they don’t see another way of survival, the families do what is needed in order to subsist.

Brazilian government has a number of laws to preserve the Amazon but it is not enough nor efficient. The families depending on the forest need to make a living. Crops and cattle are taking over the rainforest and families in the area are getting jobs, selling their lands and dreaming about that a better life will come out of it.

Deforestations rates are getting bigger due to the demand for Soya and cattle pasture, main activities at some States where the rainforest is located.

As a result of Brazilian economic dynamics nowadays the rates of deforestation start to increase again. It’s time to give other choices of development and a minimum life quality to the population living from the rainforest, it is the only way to save the forest.
