According to the data released by the Brazilian National Institute For Space Research (INPE) the annual deforestation rate at the Amazon region has increased 3,8 % in the past 12 months.

The data was gathered from July 2007 to August of the current year, month in which the last dry period in the region takes place and where deforestation rates usually rise. According to this year data the total area of deforestation corresponds to 11.968 Km2. Based on this information daily Amazon deforestation can be compared to the size of a soccer field.

Most threes have been cut down giving space to new pastures and crop plantations. The damaged caused to the global environment and consequently to global warming is unthinkable.

Forest clearance is mostly done by burning which releases a lot of CO2 into the atmosphere having a direct effect onto the climate. Indirect effects come within time as there is less forest to absorb carbon dioxide.

Another year is coming to an end and not enough has been done in order to prevent Amazon deforestation. Besides the climate effects there are also unique plants and animals that vanish as the forest gets smaller. It is time for everyone of us to do our share and help out the forest.

Brazil is countries of continental size, each of its regions are very different and unique. Besides environmental differences there are also the ones related to population and live quality.

Some states have incomes from industrialized activities, farming, tourism, services and so on. The states at the rainforest region have most of their income from farming which is a problem.

Deforestation rates due to new pastures have increased tremendously. Population living in the tropical forest surroundings are very poor and don’t have many alternatives to choose from when deciding how to provide for their families.

As profit from cattle and crop plantations increase so does deforestation. Forest is burn to open space for pastures. The main reason is the lack of labor choice given to the local population.

The local government has not done much in order to create or support alternatives of sustainable development projects. Actions from the civil society supporting sustainable projects that give alternatives to local population are most important to save the forest from turning into pasture.

Climate Change is a direct result of human activity. The modern life has tremendously increased the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere and the result is a chaotic environment where the so called natural disasters happen more often than before.

Simple man activities such as driving cars, taking planes, using gas, turning on lights and so on contribute to global warming. Besides all this regular actions that are present on everyone’s lives there are also industrial activities releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

Deforestation is also one of the main causes of global warming and therefore climate change. All the emissions coming from deforestation in Brazil are accountable for 75% of the carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere.

Small changes done by each one of us on our routine can have a great impact on global climate. In addition action must be taken towards preserving rainforests and other unique places around the planet.

Having in mind the importance of the rainforest to avoid global warming is that adopt forest developed a sponsor program. Learn more about it browsing into our website and help to save the rainforest.

Rainforest deforestation is happening in large scale. The Amazon is home to an uncountable number of animal and plant species and once the forest disappears so will all those animals and plants.

Because the rainforest is such a unique environment there is no other place that could be home to all those animals. The forest burnings, lodgings and clearance for pastures are already place some plants and animals on the extinction list.

Besides Amazon importance to a great number of species there is also its importance to world’s climate and animals. The temperature rise in the past years has compromised not only species living at the rainforest but also species spread all over the world. The rainforest plays a key role on the planet and its climate and must be preserved.

Saving the rainforest is not an easy task, it will take time, political and economical compromising and most important, action. Everyday there are more and more pastures and less of the rainforest to be saved.

Do your part, help us to save the rainforest.
